Canopy

Photographed by directing the lens upward into the forest canopy, this series examines the inherent beauty of organic shapes, creating a visual collage of natural form and light. By capturing the canopy from below, the images reveal an intricate architecture of branches, leaves, and shifting luminosity — patterns that are both structured and spontaneous.

All of the works were produced entirely in-camera, a deliberate choice that preserves the authenticity and tactile quality of the experience. The abstractions that emerge are shaped by chance: the movement of leaves, the direction of the wind, and the way light filters through the layered canopy. These elements combine to create images that feel both grounded in nature and gently untethered from reality, inviting viewers into a quiet, contemplative space.
